Single executives heading principal departments and the chief executive officers of principal departments headed by boards or commissions shall keep their offices at the seat of government except as otherwise provided by law, superintend them in person and perform duties prescribed by law.

There shall be elected at each general biennial election a governor, a lieutenant governor, a secretary of state, a state treasurer, a commissioner of the state land office, and an auditor general and an attorney general, for the term of two years. They shall keep their offices at the seat of government, superintend them in person and perform such duties as may be prescribed by law. The office of commissioner of the state land office may be abolished by law.

Art 8, § 1: There shall be elected at each general biennial election in November a Secretary of State, a State Treasurer, a Commissioner of the State Land Office, a Superintendent of Public Instruction, an Auditor General, and an Attorney General, for the term of two years, each of whom shall keep his office at the seat of government, and shall perform such duties as may be prescribed by law.

The Auditor General, the Superintendent of Public Instruction, the Secretary of State, the Commissioner of the Land Office, and the Attorney General, shall each reside, during the term of his office, at the seat of government, and shall personally superintend the duties of his office.
