Joint Resolution No. 5 of 1887

Article IX

Sec. 1: The governor shall receive an annual salary of one thousand dollars; tThe judges of the circuit court courts shall each receive an annual salary of two thousand five hundred twenty-five hundred dollars; the Governor an annual salary of five thousand dollars; the State Treasurer shall receive an annual salary of one thousand twenty-five hundred dollars; the superintendent of public instruction shall receive an annual salary of one thousand dollars; the Secretary of State shall receive an annual salary of eight hundred twenty-five hundred dollars; the Commissioner of the Land Office shall receive an annual salary of eight hundred twenty-five hundred dollars; the Attorney General shall receive an annual salary of eight hundred three thousand dollars; the Superintendent of Public Instruction an annual salary of twenty-five hundred dollars, payable in the same manner as that in which such salaries have heretofore been paid. They shall receive no fees or perquisites whatever for the performance of any duties connected with their office. It shall not be competent for the legislature to increase the salaries herein provided.
