According to the UAW Region 1-C Web site where the PowerPoint document below was discovered, this presentation was given to local union officials at a leadership conference in late May or early June. To the extent that this document is what it appears to be, it leaves little doubt that the "Reform Michigan Government Now" ballot initiative is a partisan power play.

For an analysis of the presentation, see "Document on UAW Web Site Outlined Strategy for 'Changing the Rules of Politics in Michigan to Help Democrats'" by Paul Kersey, the Mackinac Center's director of labor policy. To read a collection of Mackinac Center commentaries on the proposal, see the Center's Web page on the "Reform Michigan Government Now" Proposal.
