Michigan Capitol Confidential seeks an entrepreneurial and enterprising team player with a background in news journalism for the position of reporter and editor. CapCon is committed to improving the quality and quantity of information provided to Michigan residents on the actions of state and local governments that impact them, their families and their economic livelihoods.
CapCon is a daily online news service and quarterly print publication of the Mackinac Center for Public Policy. Our editors, news reporters and freelancers produce stories from a free-market perspective that highlight government obstacles, waste and abuse. The Mackinac Center’s policy team helps provide content ideas and serves as a resource for the CapCon reporting team. The reporter and editor will work in the news division to achieve these goals.

This position is located at, or requires regular travel to, our headquarters in Midland, Michigan. The Mackinac Center offers competitive salary and benefits including but not limited to: health, dental, life, disability insurance and 30 days paid time off, in addition to nine paid holidays per year.
