Pay hike, premium contribution in TBAISD

TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. - Employees in the Traverse Bay Area Intermediate School District will receive pay hikes, contribute 10 percent to their health insurance premiums and move to a new insurance plan under the terms of a newly signed contract, according to the Traverse City Record-Eagle.

The 230 employees include psychologists, therapists, nurses and career and technical teachers, the report said. They will receive a 2.25 percent pay raise retroactive for the current school year and a 2 percent raise next year. They also will continue to pay 10 percent of their health insurance premium, but will switch to the Choices II plan administered by the Michigan Education Special Services Association, the Record-Eagle reported.

The new plan will save the ISD $257,000 in the coming year, Superintendent Mike Hill told the Record-Eagle.
