Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder proposed reform of the state's film
subsidy program, which currently gives up to a 42 percent refund on film spending in Michigan.
On
March 11, 2011, the Film Office Advisory Council held its first meeting since the governor
released his budget. The council lambasted Gov. Snyder's plan to cap the subsidy's expenditures at $25 million and essentially made a direct lobby for the
industry.
