High School Debate 2016

The Mackinac Center for Public Policy is pleased to sponsor its annual High School Debate Workshop program. Thousands of students and teachers have honed their forensic skills at our workshops, which are designed to enhance the debate season for all schools through informative speakers, free materials, and up-to-date news and research on the debate topic. If you have any questions about the Debate Workshop pages or resources, please contact Event Manager Kimberley Fischer-Kinne at 989-698-1905 or by .

For workshop information, visit the 2015-2016 Debate Site.

The Mackinac Center will offer $2,500 college scholarships for up to three students winning our writing contest related to the topic. Please note that students need not be active debaters to enter the contest! Any student with a registered and active 2016-2017 Debate Workshop account is eligible. The deadline for your essay submission is January 31, 2017.
