Harry Hutchison, a law professor at George Mason University School of Law and a member of the Mackinac Center’s Board of Scholars, puts a new twist on the old argument of racial preferences being used in college admissions in a Detroit News Op-Ed today.

A case involving the Michigan Civil Rights Initiative, passed by voters in 2006, will be heard by the U.S. Supreme Court next month. Hutchison said the bigger issue to be addressed is school choice and school reform in districts that serve disadvantaged students.
