Kersey: Union Ballot Plan a 'Power Grab'

Labor Policy Director Paul Kersey is cited in stories in The Detroit News and Detroit Free Press today about a potential union power grab that would reverse several recent reforms aimed at saving taxpayers millions of dollars and possible prevent the Legislature from enacting right-to-work protections for Michigan employees.

“This looks like an unprecedented power grab by union officials,” Kersey told The News. “A whole lot of things would be at risk.”

Kersey also told the Free Press that if the proposed ballot amendment passes, “The unions will drag government around by the nose. The Legislature will be powerless to stop it.”
