WEST BLOOMFIELD, Mich. — Parents and others in the West Bloomfield School District have formed West Bloomfield Families Stand United to collectively address the stalemated contract negotiations between the district and its teachers, according to the WestBloomfieldPatch.
In separate reports, the Patch said that the group wants to promote nonpartisan, civil discourse even as it urges a contract resolution and serves as an information source about the district budget and the details of contract proposals put forth by each side.
The district and the West Bloomfield Education Association have been in negotiations since August, according to the Patch, and teachers have picketed board of education meetings.
At a recent meeting, several parents offered ideas on how to resolve the contract dispute, the Patch reported. One suggestion was to declare negotiations at impasse and implement a contract as a starting point for further talks, the report said.
