1) AND search (default)
To return documents which contain all the words, insert the
AND operator between the words, e.g.:
freedom AND economics
2) OR search
To return documents which contain any of the words, insert
the OR operator between the words, e.g.:
freedom OR economics
3) NOT search (a.k.a., AND NOT)
To eliminate documents which contain a certain word, insert
the NOT operator before the word, e.g.:
freedom NOT fighter
4) Phrase search (" ")
To return documents which contain a phrase (spaces and punctuation
included), surround the words with double quotes (" "),
e.g.:
"economic freedom"
5) * as a wildcard
To return documents which contain words that begin with the
word fragment, e.g.:
free*
6) NEAR (a.k.a., ~)
To return documents which contain words in close proximity,
e.g.:
economic NEAR freedom
economic ~ freedom
7) Combination search
The above rules may be combined to create a more advanced search statement, e.g.:
"economic freedom" AND Michigan
8) No Parentheses
Parentheses, ( and ), are not supported.
9) Partial Words Search Limitations
Partial Words search does not support the NOT, NEAR, nor * wildcard features.
