BERKLEY, Mich. — The Berkley School District issued a statement recently stating that the allegations against Superintendent Michael Simeck being investigated by the Michigan Secretary of State are false, according to the South Oakland Eccentric.
District Spokeswoman Shira Good told the Eccentric that the statement was from the district and not a "personal comment" from Simeck.
Originally 13 complaints were filed after a bond issue that lost with just 30 percent of the vote, the Eccentric reported. Ten of the allegations were dismissed. The complaints accuse Simeck of violating campaign laws by using public money to advocate for passage of the bond, according to the Eccentric.
