HUDSON, Mich. - Hudson Area Schools and Morenci Area Schools are considering sharing a superintendent and other services, though the plan is still exploratory, The (Adrian) Daily Telegram reported.
"We're looking at this as a way to help both districts and build on the expertise of the superintendent to provide educational benefits to all students," Scott Merillat, president of the Morenci school board, told The Telegram.
Hudson Superintendent Michael Osborne likely would oversee both districts if the plan is approved; former Morenci Superintendent Kyle Griffiths left the district earlier this year to become principal of a nearby high school academy alternative program.
The districts have a combined enrollment of about 1,700 students, according to The Telegram. Merillat told The Telegram that there is no intent to consolidate the districts.
