Lawrence W. Reed, president emeritus of the Mackinac Center for Public Policy, will discuss the Great Depression and its lessons for policymakers in an April 13, 2009 speech at Central Michigan University. Reed’s popular monograph “Great Myths of the Great Depression” explodes conventional thinking about the period and President Franklin Roosevelt’s attempts to spur the economy. His speech is being co-sponsored by the Mackinac Center’s Students for a Free Economy.
