Factors Influencing Privatization in Michigan
No matter how much contracting can free a district to focus on its core educational mission, the potential cost savings are usually important, too. As noted earlier under “Contracting of School Support Services,” Michigan’s school finance structure, which attaches a majority of most districts’ money to student enrollment, places an increased premium on schools’ cost management.
