County Road Association of Michigan and the Road Commission for Oakland County

The County Road Association of Michigan (CRAM) reported in 2002 that it would take $1 billion per year of new money to get county roads around the state up to 90 percent “good” condition.[59] Oakland County has done its own review and says an extra $1.5 billion is needed over 10 years ($150 million per year) to complete a variety of projects for Oakland roads. They point out that in 2005 alone there were some $60 million in projects competing for just $23.8 million in available federal funding for the county.[60]
