Secure Socket Layering and Digital Authentication
To protect the confidentiality and security of your credit card and personal information, the Mackinac Center has implemented 128 bit Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology. Briefly, the SSL software encrypts all your information, and authenticates the Center’s server for decrypting.
In addition, the Go Daddy site seal is provided as an active link to Go Daddy allowing you to authenticate this web site. (The Go Daddy SSL certificate is signed by Starfield Technologies, Inc.)
To ensure that this is a legitimate secure site using SSL, make sure that:
https:// starts the original URL. (So SSL is encrypting.)
The original URL of the site you are visiting comes from https://www.mackinac.org/.
The URL of the page returned from clicking on the seal begins with https://seal.godaddy.com/.
The Certificate Status is valid.
