Michael LaFaive, director of the Center’s Morey Fiscal Policy Initiative, was cited by the San Francisco-area NBC affiliate over GlobalWatt’s decision to leave Saginaw.
“Now we know [the state of Michigan] did not really look too deeply into the matter,” LaFaive said.
LaFaive recently wrote about GlobalWatt’s eviction from its headquarters and failure to meet several criteria required to receive taxpayer subsidies worth millions of dollars.
LaFaive also told TV7&4 in Traverse City that he found discrepancies on applications GlobalWatt submitted to the state in applying for subsidies. He also discussed the issue with Greg Ghering on WJRW AM1340 in Grand Rapids.
Center analysts first began investigating GlobalWatt in September 2010.
