The Senate met one day this week and passed several non-controversial measures with unanimous votes. The House had one session scheduled but there was no quorum and no votes were taken. 

Senate Bill 1093, Authorize Army Airborne license plates, passed in the Senate (34 to 0)
To offer a special license plate to current or former members of the Army Airborne.

Senate Bill 749, Authorize "Gold Star Family" license plates, passed in the Senate (34 to 0)
To allow the spouse, parent, sibling, or child of a member of the armed services who died during combat to get a special license plate inscribed with the words "Gold Star Family."

Senate Bill 1014, Create Native American language teacher certification exception, passed in the Senate (34 to 0)
To provide an exception to Michigan's teacher certification requirements that would allow a school to hire an uncertified person to teach a Native American tribal language and culture class, if a federally recognized tribe indicates that the person has demonstrated mastery of the tribal language, or this is demonstrated in some other way.

Senate Concurrent Resolution 46, Authorize new debt for West Shore Community College projects, passed in the Senate (34 to 0)
To authorize $6.9 million in state and college borrowing to pay for various renovation and remodeling projects at the West Shore Community College.
