The David Wolf Wetlands Dispute

Click to Play

About this video: In this Property Rights Network video, the fifth in a series, David and Beverly Wolf always wanted to retire to a beautiful home on the waterfront. They purchased their dream property in 1984, with plans to develop. Aware of a swath of wetland that crossed the parcel between the road and the water, the couple believed the area adjacent to the shore was ideal for building.

The Wolfs applied for two separate wetland permits over the course of their retirement. Despite the Wolf’s efforts to minimize environmental impacts, both permits were denied by the MDEQ. It has been roughly eight years since the initial driveway proposal. The Wolfs lost some of their valuable retirement years fighting to build their potential home. The property remains vacant as the Wolfs continue to fight for approval.
