On July 19, 2007, Dr. Ryan S. Olson, director of education policy at the Mackinac Center for Public Policy, was a guest on "The Greg Marshall Show" on WMKT in "Traverse City." Olson discussed "A Michigan School Money Primer for Policymakers, School Officials, Media and Residents," a new book co-authored by Olson and Michael D. LaFaive, the Mackinac Center's director of fiscal policy. The book provides a comprehensive look at how every dollar spent on public schools in Michigan is raised.
Olson also discussed www.mackinac.org/michiganschoolmoney, a database that taxpayers can access to learn more about school financing. The interview is 16 minutes and 18 seconds long.
