A retired Detroit police officer whose wife was forced into a government employee union because the couple opposes paying “union dues” to care for their two developmentally disabled adult children at home is “an idiot” according to a leading proponent of Proposal 4, the Detroit Free Press reports.

Patrick Wright, director of the Mackinac Center Legal Foundation, explains in the Free Press story the relationship between the Service Employees International Union and a shell corporation designed to help the union skim $6 million a year in “dues” from people who care for disabled loved ones.

The MCLF is representing Patricia Haynes, whose husband Rob Haynes was insulted by Dohn Hoyle in the article.
